Monthly Member’s Meeting in July 2022: What You Need to Know
The highlights of our July Member's Meeting are included here. This monthly meeting is a chance to learn about Digital Freight Alliance's planned projects. We begin with a brief overview of last month's meeting and then examine many of the important debates that occurred.
This article will outline the agenda for future meetings and provide information on upcoming Digital Freight Alliance events that you may be interested in attending or participating in.
Today’s digital world demands we work in an entirely new way.
Vision & Strategy
The DFA is a network association designed to connect freight forwarders to each other and to cargo opportunities.
Uniquely among such associations, this design is part of a wider vision to facilitate digital transformation for members, by providing the best online digital tools and access to a dynamic cargo booking platform.
Digital Freight Alliance & SeaRates
We set up DFA in 2020 as a development from the SeaRates.com freight booking platform which was designed to help smaller cargo owners looking for spot rates to make up that 10 - 15% of their overall freight spend that is not already committed on a contract logistics basis.
Selling other rates
Reselling premium members’ rates on your website
All premium members are digitally connected this means that you can subscribe to members’ rates.
These rates will be offered to your visitors as your own.
You can earn a commission on these and gain additional earnings.
By opting-in your rates for other members, to leverage them for their customers, you have the opportunity to get new business. The member will either add their margin on top of your rates or you can split commissions of your existing rate.
Advertising your rates on SeaRates
Premium members have the opportunity to promote your services on SeaRates.com. This gives you access to 30k potential customers every day.
The more competitive your rates are the higher the chance you have of winning the booking bid.
Standard members can only upload rates and advertise them on the Logistics Explorer on their own website.
How to add your rates
1. Go to your virtual office, find the rates and tariffs tab and select the type of tariff you want to add
2. Follow the prompts to add rates for
a. Sea - FCL, LCL or bulk
b. Airfreight
c. Land - FTL, LTL, FWL
3. You can also import your rates from XLS/CSV file to bulk upload the rates for multiple carriers, routes and countries.

Lead generation
Lead generation is one of the most important functions of Logistics Explorer. The ability to generate leads in an affiliate like way makes the platform an extremely valuable tool for creating a database of your own clients.
Although it is possible to predict the most popular destinations there are always routes for which it's hard to get a rate quickly. In these cases, to avoid losing potential customers, the platform has a quick request for transportation without the hassle of filling in complex forms.
Membership Tiers
Digital Freight Alliance is the first global supply chain association created by DP World, a leading enabler of logistics and trade. With both a free and premium membership, it's the start of your journey. Choose one and enjoy all the benefits of the Digital Freight Alliance.
